“녹은 쇠에서 나온 것인데 점점 쇠를 먹어간다.”-"It came from melted iron and gradually corrodes iron."

우리는 욕망을 품고 사는 존재들이다.
욕망은 전염병과 같이 타인의 것이 내 것인 것처럼 편입될 때도 있고, 부모나 타인이 나에게 갈망하는 욕망 또한 우리의 내부에 스며들 때도 있다.
우리의 내부엔 나의 것, 타인의 것, 타인에게 강요 된 것 등 너무 많은 욕망이 존재한다.

사회 속에서 인간은 자신에게 결여된 무엇인가를 끊임없이 찾고자 하는 그 대상은 충족되지 않는다. 욕망을 충족시키는 과정에서 인간은 일시적으로 만족하지만 충족되지 못한 욕망은 또 다시 결핍으로 이어져 괴로워한다.

과잉된 욕망은 은폐될 뿐 사라지지 않는다. 인간의 내부에 억압되고 압축되어 쌓여진 이 욕망은 무의식의 수면아래에 은밀하게 자리하고 소용돌이친다. 욕망이 우리에게 되돌아오는 과정에서 타인을 향한 폭력, 우울증, 예기치 못한 돌출발언 등을 수반하여 상처를 준다.
예상하지 못한 욕망이 되돌아오고, 충족되지 않은 욕망으로 인해 인간을 불안해하고 공포에 속박된다. 우리는 모두 각자의 압축된 욕망 속에 내재된 비정형적 돌출에 대한 무의식적 공포를 만나게 된다.

본인은 욕망이 주는 불안과 공포에서 해방되고 상처를 치유하는 방법으로써 욕망을 가시화하여 대면하는 방법을 취한다. 언캐니(uncanny)하며 그로테스크(grotesque)한 인물의 표현으로 인해 감상자는 심리적으로 자극을 받아 긴장상태를 유지하지만 이것은 역설적으로 해방감을 느끼게 한다.

흉측하고 금방이라도 타인을 뚫어버릴 것 같이 중무장한 인간이 있다.
이 인간이 가장 나약해 질 때 떠나게 되는 내부의 유배지에는 온갖 욕망에 의한 죄의식과 공포로 점철되어있다.
외면하고 싶은 이 공간을 마주하고 인정하는 순간 우리는 스스로를 억압하는 모든 존재로 벗어날 수 있다.

We are creatures with desire.
As a contagious disease, desire can be carried over to mine from others and desire that parents and others crave for from me soaks into the inside of me.
Inside of me, a variety of desire exists such as mine and others and desire enforced to others.

In a society, the objects insufficient to and consistently searched for by human beings are not satisfied. In the course to satisfy desire, human beings can be temporarily satisfied but unsatisfied desire is connected to deficiency and causes them to worry.
Excessive desire becomes concealed but doesn’t disappear. This desire oppressed and compressed to accumulate in the inside of human beings secretly settles down below the surface of water of unconsciousness and whirls. The course in which desire returns to us includes violence to others, depress and unexpected speaking and leaves others hurt.
Unexpected desire returns and due to unsatisfactory desire, human beings feel uneasy and are bound to fear. All of us face unconscious fear of atypical projection immanent in compressed in each of use.

As a method to be free from anxiety caused by desire and cure a wound caused by desire, I visualize and confront desire. From the expression of uncanny and grotesque characters, viewers maintain tension from psychological stimulation but this paradoxically make them feel freedom.

There is a human who looks atrociously and is heavily armed who seems to immediately penetrate others.
An interior place of exile where this human is exiled when he becomes weakest is full of a variety of desire and guilt and fear.
At the moment we face and recognize this space we would like to ignore, we can escape from the existence which makes us oppress ourselves.
